If you're concerned about the delivery of your IT project we can quickly identify the steps needed to address the issues, de-risk delivery and improve your chances of success.

We can identify key issues and recommend a pragmatic plan of action to give your project the best chance of success within days. The service consists of three key steps:

Initial Consultation

During the initial free-of-charge consultation, we listen to you to build up an initial view on the project's history, its objectives, your take on the key challenges, what documentation exists that we can look at and who we should speak to in order to get a deeper understanding.

Project Review

To make the best use of your time, we begin by quickly reviewing existing project documentation to build up a broad understanding of what you are trying to achieve. We recognise that there will be a varying levels of documentation for any given project — just give us what you've got — don't write anything new down.

We use a questionnaire we have developed to quickly get a broad understanding of the issues as perceived by a representative sample of the project team at all levels.

The questionnaire responses provide us with an insight into the project and how it is performing and allow us to spend more time on drilling down into specific area when we interview key individuals such as the executive sponsor, project manager and architect. The interviews are generally one-on-one but can also be conducted in small workshops where appropriate to speed up the process and increase coverage if there are a large number to cover off.

We assess the health of the project in six areas by answering key questions such as:

 

Business

Do team members have a common understanding of objectives? Does the business case still add up? Are the drivers clear and understood?

Organisation

Is the project appropriately resourced? Are the communication and reporting lines clear and functioning?

Governance

Do the stakeholders accept ownership of project actions? Is the steering group providing support to the project?

Planning

Is there a realistic, resourced plan in place? Is scope being controlled? What does progress to date look like? Is the approach aligned with business constraints and expectations?

Execution

Is the agreed design spirit being followed? What quality assurance processes are in place? How is change being managed?

Technology

Has the right technology been chosen? Are vendors performing as required?

Recommendation

Finally, we create a plan of action to address any issues we have identified. The plan is prioritised so that the actions with the greatest impact are implemented first. Our focus is to support you in making the greatest positive impact in the shortest timeframe.
